Worship!

This psalm tells the whole world to worship God with joy and gladness. He is Creator, and we are his possession – but our God is generous and takes care of His possessions like a shepherd takes care of his sheep. We live in a world that God created, and enjoy the pasture He has placed us in. God is good and generous to His creation, now and forever. He is generous and we should be glad that this is what He is like. Be joyful, sing to God, and declare his goodness.

Sing to God, worship God, and pray thanks to God. Read the psalm and remember all the things God has given you. Thank Him for your food today, thank Him for the country you live in, thank Him for your health, thank Him for His creation, thank Him for the good relationships you have with other people. God has provided for you like a good father provides for his child, or like a shepherd provides for a flock of sheep. Come before God in prayer, and enter this space with praise and thanks giving. Let everyone you know understand that His name is worthy of praise and thanksgiving.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for all that you have done for me. You have given me this body, you have breathed your life into me. Every day I wake up I do it because you have sustained me. You uphold me by the power of your will – if you didn’t sustain this world it would drop out of existence! You are the creator and the sustainer of life. All good things we enjoy come from you. Every simple pleasure, from delicious food, to a beautiful sunset, to a joke amongst friends – you made this for us. Thank you for all the goodness that is in this world. Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory – now and forever – Amen!
