DATE:

Paul wrote to Titus at the same time as First Timothy, around AD 64-66 while in Nicopolis, Greece.


AUDIENCE:
Titus was Paul's representative and he didn't need to have his hand held. He was strong and followed directions well, always finding a way to accomplish the given task. Paul had sent him to the island of Crete in order to get the members of the church there in line. Unlike Timothy, Titus was fully Greek and an uncircumcised believer.


REASON:

Paul quickly touches on leadership and then teaches Titus how to teach godly living among members of the church in Crete.
