Life in the Kingdom预览

God Will Repay Evil For Evil
Here we have the phrase, “wrath of God” and it frees us from the burden of taking justice into our own hands. In fact, the wrath of men will never result in anything positive or productive. But not so with the wrath of God.
19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19-20)
Since God will always take up our cause and see to it that justice is done, we can lay it down. We do not have to carry resentment, revenge and retaliation. Indeed, we should not and dare not. Jesus warned that an unforgiving heart is self destructive. (Matthew 6:15; 18:35)
So, when we choose to love our enemy but they do not repent, evil does not triumph. God’s justice triumphs. We do not need to be the judge. God is.
Prayer: Father, You first loved me so that I may love others. Help me to love and forgive my enemies, and those who for whatever reason dislike or try to harm me. In Jesus’ loving name, I pray, Amen!
