Living in the Tension: A Study on the "Now and Not Yet" Kingdom of GodÀpẹrẹ

The Mission of the Kingdom: Agents of Reconciliation
Questions to think through:
1. In 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, what does it mean to be a "new creation"? What is the "ministry of reconciliation" that we have been given?
2. How does the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 connect to the reality of the Kingdom of God? What is the scope of this mission?
3. Read Jesus' mission statement in Luke 4:18-19. How does this inform our understanding of what it means to be on mission for the Kingdom?
4. Who in your life needs to hear the message of reconciliation with God? How can you be an ambassador for Christ to them?
Because the Kingdom of God is already here, we are not passive spectators waiting for the final act. We are active participants in the ongoing story of redemption. As those who have been reconciled to God through Christ, we are now entrusted with the incredible privilege of being His ambassadors. Our mission is to carry the message of reconciliation to a broken and alienated world. This involves more than just sharing a set of beliefs; it is about embodying the values of the Kingdom. It's about proclaiming good news to the poor, binding up the brokenhearted, and proclaiming liberty to the captives. In our words and our deeds, we have the opportunity to give the world a glimpse of what life under the loving rule of God looks like.
