EquipHer Vol. 17: "Take Action!"Àpẹrẹ

Day 1 – Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
A single step may seem insignificant, too small to make a real difference. Yet it’s often the most powerful one we can take.
When Peter saw Jesus walking on the water in the middle of a stormy night, he wasn’t given any guarantees or reassurances about the outcome. All he had was Jesus, who, in response to his doubt, simply said, “Come!” (Matthew 14:27-29). There was no explicit promise that he wouldn’t sink or that it would be easy to walk on those turbulent waters. Peter only had an invitation that directly challenged him to take action and step outside his comfort zone.
That single step Peter took out of the boat represented a break from everything familiar and secure. It was a powerful declaration of complete trust in Christ. That step became the start of something extraordinary—an experience that would forever mark his spiritual journey.
How many times do we stay stuck inside a “boat,” because they make us feel comfortable and safe? Over time, our comfort zone can turn into a gilded cage, built on predictable routines and limited risks, but God doesn’t call us to remain still; He calls us to move forward in faith, to take that single step that pushes us beyond what feels comfortable.
Which single step might God be asking you to take today? It could be a bold decision in your career, finally having a challenging conversation, or starting something completely new that you’ve been putting off out of fear.
Daily Challenge
Identify your “boat,” and choose one concrete action to step out of it today.
Prayer
Lord, today I choose to trust You completely. Help me recognize the importance of the single step You’re calling me to take. Grant me the courage to act, to leave my fears and uncertainties behind, and to walk in Your presence. I want to leave my comfort zone and step into the fullness of the plan You’ve prepared for me. Amen.
