A Year in Luke/Acts

As Jesus leads the disciples in the Last Supper, He was creating a new redemption arc - not just for Israel, but for the whole world - and it would be remembered with a new meal. He didn’t follow the script of how the typical Passover meal was supposed to go and even gave the food new symbolic meanings - saying that they now represent His body and His blood. Jesus was leading the way for a new Passover, and just like how the old Passover combined both judgment and rescue, so would this one. Except now, Jesus himself would be taking the punishment upon himself and paving the way for our rescue with his death.
