Most can survive on little food, water, shelter, clothing or even affection. But without hope - life can be unbearable. We hope to join Jesus in heaven one day. We hope that God hears our prayers. Join us in this Abide plan as we meditate and pray on how hope is the essence of the Christian faith. 

Fueled by Hope

Lewis and Clark were great American adventurers. Learning how to walk with God is also high adventure. Although most of our world’s physical landscape has now been charted, our spiritual journeys are still like Lewis and Clark’s. One day at a time, re-calibrating and reassessing our position, stopping to survey the surroundings. Unlike them, we Christ followers do not travel away from home but rather toward home.

Your second meditation will help you recover from the emptiness of being pruned.  And a final reflection on lifting your eyes from the emptiness of earth to the fullness found in Christ.

This is true of the world that God created – we can see Him in every created thing. Join us in this plan as we take a different aspect of God’s incredible creation and explore a little more of what it says about who God is and how that truth impacts our lives.

The call for God's covenant people, in Zechariah 9:12, ‘Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope’, is the key verse for this series. The hope that Zechariah proclaims is hope in God as King, hope that God has come to dwell with us,
and hope that the covenant between God and God’s people will be restored. This is the sure hope that holds us captive.
