"You Can Change" Many people wish they could change. Many of us look at our lives and wish things were different – we wish our job was better, our marriage was happier, our future looked brighter. But a wish is not good enough to bring about change. You have to believe that you can change! Once you believe that you can do it, it is possible to move towards it. When my spiritual father, Julius Young, looked at me, newly saved and barely sober, and said to me, “Big Red, you can change,” everything began to change. It seems like a simple statement, but in reality those words were life-giving words that birthed hope in me and changed my life. Today, I say to you that you can change. You are able and you are not alone. Let’s walk this journey together, and every day as you study and go through this devotional remember this – you can change. Every area of your life can improve as you continue to renew your mind to the thoughts and ways of God. Renewal Thought: Our own self-doubt can be the biggest sabotage agent. Believe that you can change! Believe that you are able and God is calling you to be strong and very courageous in every area of your life. Prayer: Father, I believe you are working in me to bring change and renewal. I pray the Holy Spirit will guide me as I walk with you these days. I pray for the courage to go for new things and better things in every part of life. I am not stuck in doubt and fear. I walk by faith into change and renewal.
