Rise & Grind vs. Arise & Shine

Here’s one thing that I know for certain: If you bring your first and best to him, God will take your leftovers and bless them in ways that you cannot fully comprehend. The rat race we find ourselves in will only be solved with more of God, not more of us. Take a fresh look at your priorities today. Say this prayer with me before you start your day: “God, as I dive into Your Word today, allow me the ability to see where my agenda, my priorities, and my desires aren’t in line with Your will. Grant me Your grace and favor now, Lord, to see as You see, and for Your Word to penetrate my heart and spirit.” As a Christian business owner, entrepreneur, or leader, it’s important to understand the difference between grace and grind. Grace refers to the unmerited favor and kindness of God. It is by God’s grace that we are able to accomplish anything in life. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Apostle Paul writes, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” On the other hand, grind refers to hard work and perseverance. It’s important to work hard and do our best, but we must remember that our success ultimately comes from God’s grace. In Psalm 127:1-2, it says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain, you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat – for he grants sleep to those he loves.” Therefore, we must rely on God’s grace to guide us and sustain us through our hard work and perseverance. As we work hard, let us always remember that it is by God’s grace that we are able to accomplish anything.
