Life can be quite complicated and full of pain. Jesus is not the bridge that helps us “avoid it all”, but He is the bridge that will bring us “through it all”. When we deal with the hard questions of life, it’s easy to want to run or find our comfort in “stuff”. We naturally tend to gravitate toward other sources of peace or a temporary fix that can appease our soul. Jesus provides not what we want, like the fulfillment of a wish list, but access to the SOUL TRANSFORMATION that we desperately seek.
