Faith Over Feelings: How to Stay Grounded in Hard Seasons
Having vision is powerful, and having Jesus is even more amazing. You may have experienced the highs of faith—the moments in worship when tears stream down your face because of the awesomeness of God. I’ve definitely been there. But what about those times when you’re not in a service, when you’re wrapped up in the covers, crying over the death of a loved one or the end of a marriage? In those moments, when emotions are overwhelming, we have to work to stay grounded.
Not living the same year twice doesn’t mean life will be easy. You will face hard seasons, difficult days, and low moments of faith. You will feel pain and heartache. These moments are real, and they matter.
But even in those times, we have a Comforter—the Holy Spirit—and a Savior who has endured so much pain and betrayal. We have a Lord who doesn’t just sit high above, but comes low to meet us in our brokenness. In these moments, hold onto faith, cling to your vision, and stay rooted in the Word of God.
Each year brings its own challenges, but it also brings blessings. My prayer for you is that you stay grounded in Him, even during the hardest seasons.
Reflection:
What are the hard moments in your life where you feel distant from God? Take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit into those spaces. How can leaning into His presence and holding onto your vision help you navigate these seasons differently this year? Journal your thoughts and pray for the strength to stay grounded in Him.

About this Plan

Have you ever looked up and thought, “Wait… I’ve done this before”? Like you’ve found yourself in the same place, doing the same things, repeating the same patterns? Maybe year after year, goals slip by, progress stalls, and it feels like another replay of the year before. This devotional is designed to help you break that cycle, stop living the same year twice, and finally step into a breakthrough year. And honestly, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that you’re here. You’re ready for change.
