Jesus’ deity was demonstrated by the fact that He was holy. J. C. Ryle wrote that Jesus is “harmless and undefiled—such holiness as man never had and angels never will.” His purity isn’t borrowed; it’s intrinsic. He is holy by nature, not by effort. The One Who intercedes for us at God’s right hand is perfect because He is God in human form. Echoes the cries in the prophet Isaiah, “Holy, Holy, Holy” is Christ's defining attribute.
Because God is holy, we should strive to live holy lives as much as possible. May God give us the grace to be more like Him each day!
