Back to the Basics 365

DAY 255 OF 365

What mission did Christ give the church?

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations...” Acts 1:8 adds, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you...”

The mission of the church is not hidden or complicated. Christ instructed believers to reach the lost with the gospel, baptize new believers, and teach them to follow Him. The church is God’s tool to spread the good news of salvation everywhere.

The local church is not meant to sit still. It is intended to reach out to as many people as possible. The gospel is for everyone, in every nation, until Christ returns.

Our purpose has not changed. We must be bold with the message of Christ. Share it with your family, your neighbors, and those around the world. The church is strongest when it is on a mission to reach the lost.
