One of the dangers in the Christian life is the sin of pride. God blesses us and takes care of us greatly, and we can begin to develop an attitude of pride. We become confident in ourselves because circumstances in our lives are good, and we lean on ourselves rather than on God. We are reminded in Lamentations 3:22 that “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”
God is so gracious with us, and the Bible says His compassions fail not! Let us not forget that it is by His mercy that we are not consumed. He is the one who created us out of the dust of the earth and sustains us each day. Let us live our lives for Him and not forget that we could not exist outside of His grace and compassion.
