Should Christian Baptism be done by sprinkling or by immersion?
Jesus Himself gave us the example of how Christian Baptism should be done. Because baptism is a picture of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, we need to be able to be dipped under the water and brought back up again. In Mark 1:9-10, John the Baptist baptized Jesus by immersion. Another example of baptism by immersion is the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8:38-39.
Baptism by immersion is a picture of the believer dying to sin, being buried with Christ, and rising with Him to eternal life. No other method of baptism pictures the actions of Christ. There is no example in the Bible of someone being baptized by sprinkling. The word "baptize" itself literally means "to put under" or "to submerge". Determine in your heart to let the Bible guide your faith, not religious traditions made up by men!
