Back to the Basics 365

DAY 109 OF 365

How can people around you know that you are a believer in Jesus?

1 John 2 says that if we know God, we should keep His commandments. Keeping His commandments does not save us from our sins. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that it is not by works but by grace through faith we have been saved from our sins.

Although obedience does not save us, obeying God’s Word is evidence to other people that we have a relationship with God. When others see a Christian doing things that are contrary to Scripture, they notice. Many people in this world claim that they have a relationship with God, but you would never know it by looking at their sinful lifestyles.

Could someone look at your life, including your private life, and tell that you are a follower of Jesus? Would they notice the Holy Spirit working in and through you?
