Becoming Love: If We Start at Finish, Where Do We End? (Part 2)

DAY 1 OF 5

Day Six – Jesus blesses the children

Have you ever felt overlooked or unimportant?

Reading today’s passage, two beautiful insights stand out.

Jesus prioritises the overlooked. In the culture of the day, children had very little value, yet Jesus stopped everything to welcome them. He wasn’t too busy, too tired, or too important. He shows us that in the kingdom of God, nobody is insignificant. Love sees and values even those the world ignores.

The second thing we notice is that Jesus says something radical: “The kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” He didn’t just bless the children; He made them an example - their childlike trust and humility are the very posture we need to receive the love of God. And just like Jesus, we are called to value and empower the vulnerable around us.

What can you do today? Maybe you can start looking through different lenses that seek out those who are overlooked or powerless. Maybe you can be a voice for someone who doesn’t know how to speak for themselves. But most of all, maybe you can begin to look at your environment with childlike eyes.
