Called to Stand OutНамуна

Let us be real—the easy way is tempting. It is fast. It is popular. And sometimes, it just seems easier to go with the flow than to swim against the current. But Jesus does not sugarcoat it! He tells us straight up: there are two roads. One is wide, crowded, and comfortable—but it leads to destruction. The other? It’s narrow, costly, and rarely chosen—but it leads to life!
So which road are you on?
Let me paint a picture. Imagine the moment you gave your life to Jesus. He handed you the keys to a brand-new car—license plate labeled COG: Child of God. He did not just send you out and say, “Good luck!” He gave you a map (His Word) and a personalized GPS—the Holy Spirit—to guide your every turn.
And let’s be honest. Some days, we mute the GPS. We put the map in the glovebox. We think we have got this on our own. And before long, we are confused, anxious, maybe even lost. So what do we do? We look around. We ask the world for directions. And suddenly, we find ourselves surrounded by cars flying down a six-lane highway, all with tags that say COW—Child of the World.
At first, it feels exciting to be part of the crowd! But eventually, something feels off. There is this pit in your stomach—a quiet whisper reminding you: this isn’t the road I called you to.
Friend, we were never meant to live like the world and follow Jesus at the same time.
You were not created to blend in with culture—you were called to follow Christ. That means taking the narrow road even when it’s not trending. It means listening to His voice when it is quieter than the noise of the crowd. It means trusting His GPS when everyone else is going the opposite direction.
So let me ask you this: how long are you willing to stay on the wrong road?
You do not have to keep driving in the wrong direction. You do not have to keep following a path that is slowly pulling you away from life and peace and truth. Jesus is the Way! And no matter how far you have wandered, the moment you turn around—He’s right there.
Reflection Question: Is there any area of your life where you have been cruising with the crowd instead of following the way of Christ? What would it look like to exit the wide road and choose the narrow one today?
