Recovering Your Roar—Living with Authority
There’s a reason the enemy wants you to stay silent: When you find your voice, the atmosphere shifts. I’ve seen it—quiet Christians become bold, wounded people become warriors—not by shouting louder, but by realizing whose authority they walk in.
Jesus said, “Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19, MEV). Authority isn’t about volume or personality; it comes from knowing who sent you. Sometimes the strongest roar comes from whispered prayers in secret places.
Psalm 29:11 declares that God gives strength and peace to His people. This isn’t soft or passive peace; it’s the kind that stands its ground. There are battles only won when you decide to stop cowering and start declaring what God has given you.
Paul reminds us that our weapons are not of this world; they have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4, MEV). Every time you pray for your family, every praise you lift, every Scripture you stand on—it’s warfare.
So what’s kept you silent? Disappointment? Doubt? The opinions of others? Remember, your authority comes from Jesus, not from your track record. When you roar, it’s not about being loud; it’s about refusing to agree with darkness any longer.
Today, let God restore your voice. Pray like it matters. Encourage someone. Stand on truth. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so—out loud.
Reflection Questions:
- Where do you sense God wants to give you new spiritual authority?
- What practical way can you “roar” today (through prayer, encouragement, or action)?
- When have you seen God back up your words or prayers in the past?
Prayer:
Father, I want to walk in the authority You promised, not settle for survival. Restore my voice—let my words, prayers, and life shake the darkness. I trust You for courage and boldness as I follow Your lead. Amen.
