Praying With Assurance: Keys to Profit and ProgressНамуна

WHEN CONFIDENCE IS LOST, PRAYER LOSES POWER
Confidence is the backbone of prayer; once it is lost, prayer becomes powerless. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised).” God is faithful, but if you cast away your confidence, you cut off the channel of His power in your life. Many Christians begin prayer with fire, but halfway through, doubt sets in, and their words lose strength. Others finish praying but immediately cancel their requests by confessing fear, unbelief, or anxiety. A prayer without confidence is like a gun without bullets—it makes noise but does no damage.
Isaiah declared, “For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed” (Isa. 50:7). That is what confidence looks like—setting your face like a flint, refusing to be moved by delay, opposition, or feelings. The devil rejoices when he can push you into wavering, because he knows that a wavering man cannot receive anything from God. When you allow your confidence to be broken, you will pray long but remain empty-handed. It is not the length of prayer that brings results but the force of confidence behind it.
I want you to make up your mind today: your confidence will not be negotiable. Guard it before prayer, sustain it during prayer, and confess it after prayer. Refuse to let your words contradict what you have already asked of God. Stop saying, “I don’t know if it will happen.” Stop rehearsing the devil’s lies. Confidence speaks boldly: “The Lord will help me; I shall not be ashamed.” If you can hold your confidence firm, you will see your prayers produce undeniable results.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Do I allow fear and delay to weaken my confidence in prayer? How can I hold fast to my confession until the answer manifests?
PRAYER:
Lord, strengthen my confidence like a flint. Help me to hold fast without wavering, knowing that You are faithful to perform Your Word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
