InfluenceНамуна

“Not so with you” are four powerful words! In this moment Jesus himself sets up a comparison between how his followers gain influence and how powerful leaders usually go about gaining influence in the world. Jesus says it’s typical for leaders to gain influence by doing things like controlling, arrogance, intimidation, bragging, or asserting their power around over everyone. Jesus invites us—His followers—into a better way; a way that seems backward and upside down. Jesus says if we want to be great, we should choose to serve others. When we serve, people experience God’s love through us. Imagine how experiencing God’s love could change someone’s outlook on life. Today, find someone you can serve in a big or small way. Talk to a friend about your experience with serving.

About this Plan

From family to classmates to neighbors to social media, you have the ability to affect those around you. You have influence, and what you do with that influence matters. In this four-week series, you'll be challenged to pay attention to the "butterfly effect" that you have on others and be encouraged for that to be shaped by the effect Jesus wants you to have in the lives of others.
