Rise and Follow: 30 Days in MarkНамуна

Settle in because our reading today covers a lot of ground! Jesus briefly visits his hometown where he is received with skepticism. When he returns to his traveling ministry, he empowers the twelve disciples to directly participate in his kingdom activity by giving them power to cast out demons and heal. And then Mark shares about how John the Baptist was executed by King Herod.
In all of these scenes, Mark’s big questions to his readers remain at the center:
Who do you believe Jesus is, and what are you willing to do about it?
Reflection Questions:
- How is God speaking to me through these verses?
- What does this set of verses teach me about God?
- What does this show me about the good news of Jesus?
- How can I apply what I read today?
