DAY 4 OF 4

Day 4: Sent With Purpose

Focus: Jesus saved you on purpose for a purpose: so others could meet Him through you.

Cultural Connection: We’re surrounded by noise and self-promotion. Jesus sends us to live with clarity, purpose, and peace.

Devotional:

After the resurrection, Jesus found His disciples behind locked doors — afraid, uncertain, and hiding. As parents, we can easily become paralyzed by fear or the chaos around us. But Jesus entered that space, spoke peace over the disciples, and gave them a mission: “As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21)

You were saved on purpose — not just for heaven, but for today. Your family is your mission field. Your home is your ministry. Your words, your example, your peace… These are the ways Jesus meets your kids through you.

In a loud world, your quiet faithfulness at home speaks volumes to your kids. You don’t have to be perfect — just present.

Reflection Questions:

  • Where might fear or distraction be keeping you from embracing your purpose as a parent?
  • What’s one intentional way you can reflect Jesus to your kids today?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for sending me — not alone, but with Your Holy Spirit. Help me live each day with purpose, knowing You are with me. Use my life to show my kids who You are. Amen.

Family Connection:

Do a simple "commissioning moment" before school or bedtime. Say, “Jesus sent me to show His love to you. And now I’m sending you to share that love with the world.” Lay your hand on your kid’s shoulder, and pray a short blessing over them. Let them know: They are sent on purpose, too.

About this Plan

Purposed to Parent

In a world obsessed with image, influence, and perfection, parenting can feel like a daily test you barely pass. But Jesus sees you, knows you, and still chooses you. This four-day devotional guides you through four powerful encounters with Jesus, as found in the Gospel of John. You’ll discover how Jesus meets you in your doubts, speaks to your identity, uses your story, and sends you with purpose right where you are, with the family He has given you. You don't need to be perfect — just present.
