30 Day Battle-Ready Challenge - Leadership for Christian MenНамуна

Day 24: Finish the Assignment
Reflection: One character trait God wired into me is this: if I start something, I finish it. That sounds great, but it can also be heavy—because it means I have to be intentional about what I say “yes” to.
A great picture of this principle plays out a couple times a year on our farm during hay season. If you’ve never cut hay before, let me tell you—everything depends on timing and coordination. First, the hay has to reach the right stage for cutting. Then comes the real challenge: watching the weather. You need several days of dry conditions for a successful harvest.
Once the hay hits the ground, the clock starts ticking. There’s no pausing the process. You cut, then you ted (turn it), rake it, bale it, and finally haul it in. Every step depends on the one before it, and the pace can feel like a whirlwind. Stopping simply isn’t an option. As the saying goes, “When it’s time to make hay, you get to work.”
Our spiritual assignments work the same way. When God places something on the heart of a battle-ready man, we have to see it through. You weren’t created to drift—you were created to finish. Or as I like to say, sticking with the hay theme: don’t bail before the breakthrough.
Mission: Take an honest inventory of where you’ve left God’s work unfinished. You can’t re-engage until you identify what’s been set aside.
Field Order: What’s the one thing God clearly called you to that’s been sitting on the back burner? Take a step today to finish it.
