Loving Your Neighbor

DAY 5 OF 5

Do Not Judge

It’s easy to find fault in others. We see someone doing wrong, and we’re quick to judge. We start to think we are better than them.

But the truth is—we’re not.

Just by judging, we prove that we are not better. Jesus called us to show mercy, to love despite flaws, and to help others heal and grow in faith. By doing that, we grow too.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Matthew 7:1-2).

True love requires practice. The more we love, the more natural it becomes. And the beauty of loving our neighbor? That love comes right back to us.

Prayer

Dear God, help me understand this principle and apply it in every moment of my life. Teach me to love my neighbor without restriction or judgment. Help me to serve others as I would serve You. Thank You for giving us a living example through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for the sacrifice He made for us. In His holy name, I pray. Amen.

About this Plan

Loving Your Neighbor

Loving your neighbor was central to Jesus’ teachings — second only to loving God. But “neighbor” doesn’t just mean friends or people we like. It includes everyone: the difficult, the broken, even those who wrong us. Jesus modeled this by loving sinners, outsiders, and asking forgiveness for His enemies. This devotional calls us to reflect that same love in real ways — feeding the hungry, forgiving freely, and letting go of judgment. True love starts with knowing God, caring for ourselves, and allowing that love to overflow into action. Loving others isn’t optional — it’s how we live like Jesus.
