The Power of PresenceНамуна

GOD WITHIN US
Throughout the story of Jesus’ life leading up to the crucifixion, he calls his followers to live like him; walking each day in obedience to God, showing love for one another, and sharing the truth that God is our Heavenly Father. We can answer His calling in confidence because God dwells within us through the Spirit of Christ given to each of us in salvation.
In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul writes that God does not dwell within a physical structure like the Temple, but within the hearts of His people. After all, it is the people who make up God’s church—not the walls. God is within each and every one of us! He has blessed us with our own unique and personal gifts that we can use to make God known throughout our everyday lives.
We carry God's presence with us wherever we live, work, learn, and play, and we make God’s presence known to others when we speak words of encouragement, pray with a friend, or share the gospel. We can be the reason a friend, loved one, neighbor, or colleague gives their life to Christ!
Jesus proclaims during his Sermon on the Mount,
Let your light shine upon others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16, NIV)
His presence is the light inside of us, and we are called to let that light shine bright!
Ask Yourself:
-When do I most feel the presence of God? During prayer? When I spend time in nature?
-What simple actions, like a smile, will make God’s presence within me known to others?
Pause to Pray: Use John 14:16-17 to help open your heart to God’s presence and lead you in a prayer of thanks.
Father, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to live in me. I want to praise you and make you known through my thoughts, words, and actions every day. Use me to shine your light and love on those I meet today...
Take a Next Step: What is one tangible way that you can shine the light of Christ today? This can be anything as simple as encouraging words, listening well, or sharing Scripture.
About this Plan

You spend most of your life in ordinary places—whether at home, work, school, or in your neighborhood. But what if these weren’t just spaces you pass through, but sacred ground where God’s presence goes with you and gives you the power to be truly present and influence others. The power of your presence is the light of Christ in you.
