When Waiting Feels Like Losing
Waiting can feel like losing, especially when you know God has something good for you, but nothing around you shows it.
It’s easy to think the delay means the dream is dead. But Joseph’s story proves that waiting doesn’t mean God has forgotten.
Joseph had a dream from God—one that placed him in a position of leadership and influence. But instead of getting there quickly, everything seemed to fall apart.
His brothers betrayed him. He was sold into slavery. He was falsely accused. Thrown in prison.
For over a decade, Joseph’s life looked nothing like the dream. But Joseph stayed faithful—and God stayed close.
Years later, Joseph rose to power, saved a nation from famine, and forgave the very people who hurt him.
What looked like a setback was actually preparation.
Maybe you’re in a season of waiting. Maybe the dream God gave you feels distant.
But don’t mistake waiting for wasted time.
Patience isn’t doing nothing. It’s trusting God’s timing. It’s staying faithful even when things don’t make sense.
God’s time isn't like ours. His ways are higher. His plans are better.
Don’t be discouraged if your lost friends aren’t reached as quickly as you hoped.
Don’t be discouraged if your school isn’t changed overnight. God is working in the waiting. He’s preparing you.
Psalm 27 ends with this reminder:
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Waiting doesn’t mean God is done. It means He’s still working – in you and through you.
Practical Step: Ask God today, “How can I be faithful while I wait?” Write down one area where you’re waiting on Him. Ask Him to help you stay faithful in it. Like Joseph, you’re not just waiting—you’re becoming who God is calling you to be.

About this Plan

God is calling each of us to share His message. In Isaiah 6:8, He asks, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah responds, “Here I am. Send me.” That same question still stands today. Sharing Jesus can feel uncomfortable and intimidating, but God doesn’t ask for perfection—just a willing heart. Our job is to share; He’s the one who changes lives. This seven-day devotional will help you face the common barriers to saying yes and take your next step in faith. God is still asking, "Who will go?" - How will you respond?
