MOTION "Who Will Go" 7 Day Devotional

DAY 4 OF 7

It Starts With Us

Sometimes, when you see something at school, on your team, or in your friend group that just isn’t right, you feel a stirring inside—a feeling that someone should do something about it.

That feeling you get in your chest when you see someone left out, hear something cruel, or notice something broken—that’s not just frustration. Sometimes, it’s God giving you a burden. A holy weight. And often, that burden is the first clue that He’s inviting you to do something about it.

That’s exactly what happened with Nehemiah.

He wasn’t a pastor or a prophet. He wasn’t even in the city when it all went down.

He just heard that the walls of Jerusalem were destroyed—and it crushed him. He wept. He prayed. And then he acted.

Nehemiah didn’t ignore what was broken. He leaned into the burden.
And he didn’t try to handle it all alone—he rallied others into the mission.

He said, “We are rebuilding this wall.”

And together, they rebuilt what had been broken for decades—in just 52 days.

You don’t have to fix everything by yourself. But you do have to care enough to start.

Maybe there’s a kid who always sits alone at lunch.
Maybe your school feels more full of gossip than grace.
Maybe God’s put something specific on your heart—and you’re just waiting for someone else to go first.

What if that someone is you?

Don’t wait for perfect. Don’t wait for permission from others.
Just be the one who says, “We’re rebuilding this.”

Practical Step: Ask God to show you something broken around you—and to give you a burden for it. Then share it with one or two trusted friends or leaders. Invite them to pray with you, dream with you, and step into it with you. A shared burden can change everything.

About this Plan

MOTION "Who Will Go" 7 Day Devotional

God is calling each of us to share His message. In Isaiah 6:8, He asks, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah responds, “Here I am. Send me.” That same question still stands today. Sharing Jesus can feel uncomfortable and intimidating, but God doesn’t ask for perfection—just a willing heart. Our job is to share; He’s the one who changes lives. This seven-day devotional will help you face the common barriers to saying yes and take your next step in faith. God is still asking, "Who will go?" - How will you respond?
