Prayers for Your Strong-Willed TeenНамуна

Prayer for Provision
As parents or grandparents of teens, we want more for them than we had. We want to give them the world and teach them the value of hard work. We want to show them how to save and spend wisely. We don't want them to eat ramen for the rest of their lives!
When we look to God as our only Source, we show our kids how much we trust Him. He is our Provider--everything we have is because of him. We're not even owners. We are managers meant to steward all his blessings well. Including our teens.
Praying The Blessing (Deuteronomy 28:1-14) over our children is a good reminder of what the Lord has for us. Our Father is the King of kings! We are heirs to his throne, and so are our children.
God promises to fulfill all our needs (notice, I didn't say wants) from his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). This is not a prosperity gospel, but a promise to take care of his kids.
If you live in a scarcity mindset, it will be hard to see your way through praying for provision for your children, much less yourself. But God's promises are for all of his kids--he is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). That means if he will provide for me, he will do the same for you. Now, how and what he provides may look different between us, but as kids of the King, we get to stand on his promises for both our teens and ourselves.
Prayer: Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, thank you for always knowing what I need and providing it! Forgive me for my small-mindedness in the past when it comes to provision, and help me to steward well all you have given me to manage, including my relationship with my teen. Bless my teen with everything they need, and remind me when I forget that I am the Son/Daughter of the King--and so is my teen! Thank you for your promises. In Jesus' name, amen.
