Rest to ResetНамуна

Be Holy: Celebrate!
When God completed the creation of the world and living beings, He did not simply move on without pause; He took time to stop and rest. In doing so, He demonstrated a pattern from creation to completion that included reflection, appreciation, and rest moments. As we live, we should embrace rest as a God-given gift modeled by Him at the beginning of creation.
Before God declared that we should rest, He exemplified Himself. It's important to note that the Hebrew word for "rested," found in Genesis 2:3, is שָׁבַת (Shabat). In this context, resting does not imply rest from being tired; instead, it refers to pausing after accomplishing something significant. By resting, God showed us what it means to work, complete a task, and appreciate the results.
Moreover, God set aside the seventh day of creation as "holy" by choosing to rest. "Holy" means "set apart" for a specific purpose. Essentially, God designated the seventh day of creation as a day of rest because He had finished His work and recognized its goodness. This act of resting established a pattern for us, suggesting that we, too, should take pleasure in the work that God has set before us and find joy in resting in the goodness of His grace, mercy, and love.
Reflection Moment:
As we conclude, consider how your life might change if you embraced rest as an essential part of God's plan and purpose. Instead of rushing on to "what's next," think about incorporating moments of rest into your life, recognizing the value of work, and building momentum in this area.
