The Gospel of John

DAY 19 OF 30

The Strong Still Voice of Jesus.

In this passage, Jesus makes a bold and controversial claim: “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). This declaration stirs outrage among some of His listeners who pick up stones, accusing Him of blasphemy. But Jesus doesn’t back down. He speaks with clarity and authority, revealing His divine nature and perfect unity with the Father.

Not everyone accepted His words, but Jesus wasn’t speaking to win approval—He was speaking to reveal truth. He says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). There is deep comfort in knowing that even in the midst of opposition, those who belong to Jesus can recognize His voice and confidently follow Him.

Believing in Jesus isn’t always easy. There are moments when even strong believers wrestle with doubt. I’ve personally asked, “Why do I believe this?” That question pushed me to search the Scriptures more deeply, to pray with greater honesty, and to seek wisdom from godly men and women. Faith grows when we lean in, not when we run away from our questions.

If you’re struggling to believe or understand, take heart. Jesus is patient and present with those who are genuinely seeking. God is not intimidated by your doubts—He welcomes your search and promises to meet you in it. Surround yourself with Scripture, trustworthy teaching, and people who can walk with you in your journey of faith.

Jesus still speaks today. And His sheep—those who know Him—still hear His voice.

Respond to God’s Word:

Think of someone in your life who may be struggling to believe in Jesus. Take a few minutes to pray specifically for them. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to their heart. Then, ask God to deepen your own faith—through prayer, reading His Word, or asking a spiritual mentor your questions. Keep listening for His voice.
