God's Purpose

"I know that You can do everything and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from you." Job 42:2 NKJV

The story of Job has always captivated me. How could one man lose so much and yet remain steadfast in his faith? The answer lies in a profound truth that many Christians struggle to comprehend fully: the sovereignty of God. Job recognized God's supreme power, wisdom, and authority to do as He pleases.

In our scripture today, Job acknowledges that God's purposes are unstoppable and that nothing is too hard for Him to do. So, if He hasn't done it yet, it's intentional and part of God's perfect plan.

Whatever God allows into our lives serves His holy purposes and ultimately works for our good. Our confidence should rest in His ability to make everything beautiful in His time.

However, as Job experienced, the reasons behind our trials may never be fully revealed. So what do you do when you don't know why? When you can't see the reason? How do you stay faithful? What do you do when your thoughts begin with, "Why me?"

Have you ever considered asking, "Why not me?"

As humans, we often assume we are more qualified than others to receive blessings or avoid hardships — but that is pride. True humility attracts God's mercy. It's the understanding that His blessings are not earned but given freely by grace. Remember, "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6, NKJV).

When we embrace God's sovereignty and trust that His plans are perfect—even when we don't understand them—we open ourselves to peace and strength beyond our circumstances. Faith is not about having all the answers but about trusting the One who does.
