Storm WatchНамуна

Take a moment today to read this verse out loud to yourself. For those of us who have been believers for a time, this is probably a verse that has been turned to repeatedly when we’ve found ourselves in seasons where we’ve felt helpless and alone. For those newer to their faith, what’s shared in this verse may be a completely new concept. No matter if it’s your first reading or if you’ve read it so many times you have it memorized, the power of what it says doesn’t diminish. There is absolutely nothing—nothing on Earth and nothing in heaven—that could ever separate us from the love of God. Nothing. Not a consequence of our actions or a situation completely outside of our control. No storm, no matter its size, could ever block out the total and complete love that God has for you.
But stormy seasons can be deceiving. They try to make you think that this time—this disappointing situation, this diagnosis, this depressive episode—this time, what you’re facing is just too big. That it’s too much for even God’s love to handle. When those thoughts start to enter your mind, remind yourself of this verse.
Romans 8:38-39 NIV "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a]neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of Godthat is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Write it down, memorize it, and use it as the wallpaper on your computer or smartphone.

About this Plan

We all experience storms—not just physical storms but also storms due to personal circumstances. Our lives are suddenly hit with waves of scary decisions or are rocked by situations completely out of our control. We’ll discover what it looks like when God uses storms to get our attention, to help us see how God can use the storms of life in unexpected ways, and also remind ourselves and each other that, even in the eye of a terrible storm, we are never alone.
