Storm WatchНамуна

No one enjoys suffering. Of course, that really shouldn’t be a surprising statement. I’m not sure any of us know a single person who would look at a day where everything is going their way and think to themselves, “You know what I need? I need to be forced to sit in traffic for hours, or have an upsetting phone call with a family member.” No one loves to go through a difficult season in their life. But there is a small comfort we can hold on to when we find ourselves in tough times or fearful circumstances —all stormy seasons end. There will come a time when the suffering and grief you have been struggling to handle will end. Not only will our storms pass, but all those dark clouds and heavy winds were just trying to mask what we know to be on the other side—a life spent with Jesus. Does this mean those tough times are any less difficult to face? Not always.
Remember the phrase, “It’s always darkest before dawn”? No matter how dark the storm may be, it’s nothing compared to the beauty and glory of God. What could it look like to see past your difficult storms to remind yourself of what God has waiting for you on the other side? How does knowing that there is so much more than what we can see in our storm help us when we inevitably have to face them ourselves?

About this Plan

We all experience storms—not just physical storms but also storms due to personal circumstances. Our lives are suddenly hit with waves of scary decisions or are rocked by situations completely out of our control. We’ll discover what it looks like when God uses storms to get our attention, to help us see how God can use the storms of life in unexpected ways, and also remind ourselves and each other that, even in the eye of a terrible storm, we are never alone.
