Miracles and Mysteries: Matthew 8-13Намуна

What do you hold most valuable to you?
Jesus encourages His disciples not to fear those who can harm their bodies, but rather fear God alone, for He is the judge of your soul. That can sound confronting. But it is also quite comforting. Right after Jesus says this, He reassures His listeners that God values you even more than other living creatures. God knows each and every one of the hairs on your head, the quirks in your personality, and the feelings in your heart. This is the same God who knew you before you were in your mother’s womb! He sees you, He knows you, and He loves you. And we can be confident in this because, as Jesus comforts His listeners to not fear the world, Jesus also says that He has come to overcome the world, assuring victory over sin and death by giving up His own life on the cross in your place. That is how much He values you.
Today, ponder this: Is there clear evidence of God’s love for you that you can see right now? As you dig more into Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, what will become clearer is just how much the creator God loves you and values you.
