Journeying to Easter - Part 1Намуна

The message hasn't changed
There are two parts of this passage that really catch my attention:
Firstly, in verse 28, after Jesus calls him, Levi leaves everything and follows Him. Secondly, in verse 32, Jesus states, ‘I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners…’
It is both a humbling and an encouraging story! Would I be so quick to leave everything behind for someone I’d only heard about through word on the street? My job, my home, my belongings… honestly, I’m not sure!
But in the same breath, wow! To be seen, known, and called by One who was being labelled Healer, Prophet, Messiah!
God’s message is the same today as it was back in the days of Levi, the tax collector – He continues calling the sinners to repentance. He is still wanting a relationship with us, and when we accept His Son Jesus into our hearts, it is the key to eternal life.
So acknowledge Him as He calls your name today – He chose you, and He will never stop loving you.

About this Plan

“In these next days and weeks leading up to Easter we’ll explore different scriptures. Each verse a thread in the tapestry of God’s great big redemption story – all culminating in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this Easter season, let’s slow down and create a regular rhythm of remembrance together.” (Lent – Lucy Weil)
