Walking With JesusНамуна

As close as possible
What does it mean to walk with Jesus? Some think it simply means trying to live a good life or trying to be ‘Christian,' whatever that means.
But the scripture above is far more complex, deeper and richer. And yet, like all of God’s challenges and promises, it’s achievable. Walking with Jesus implies that we’ve received Him (by faith), have been instructed by, or about Him, and have a strong foundation of faith. It implies that we have an active workable relationship with Jesus Christ in our lives.
Personally, as a young Christian, I was greatly helped by reading the narrative of how Jesus lived and ministered on the earth. As I matured, I was instructed by the words of Jesus on how to think, how to act, and how to respond in any or every situation. And so for over 50 years in my private, public, and professional life, I’ve eagerly attempted to follow scripture, emulate the lives of strong believers, and prayerfully ask Jesus, personally, to lead and guide me.
Today’s scripture encourages us to another level of intimacy – that is to ‘walk in Him.' This is obtained by consciously being aware and inviting Jesus to be with us at all times. Romans 13:14a (NLT) puts it this way: ‘Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.’ My challenge to me is to get as close to Jesus as possible. Would you join me in this quest?

About this Plan

If you feel like you are walking this journey called life alone, take heart! Jesus wants to walk with you! ‘He may let us lead, encouraging us from behind, or be out front leading and protecting us. Other times right next to us as we talk to each other (that’s called prayer).’ (Who Is Your Walking Partner? - Robbie Parkin)
