Finding Treasure
When we say the Bible is inerrant, it means it contains no errors. God inspired men over many centuries and locations to write His words. The Bible wasn’t written in a single language or through one person. The Bible is a book of history and has been used to locate important artifacts. It is a book of poetry. Psalms represents this writing style perfectly. It contains love stories, battles, miracles, and instructions for living. Seeing God’s words in printed form is like finding treasure. We don’t have to guess what God wants from us. We don’t have to wonder what He provides for us. We can read that the God of the universe identifies with us, loves us, and has a plan for us. We can trust His words, which are “God-breathed and useful. . . showing us truth. . .correcting our mistakes. . .[and] training us to live God’s way.” We have His words. There’s treasure here.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for never leaving me without direction. Your words and Your Spirit help me learn and understand the many things You want me to know about You and the life You want me to live. Amen.
