The Kid: An Advent Devotional for High SchoolersНамуна

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT BELOW
During Christmas, people typically see a lot of family and friends. The conversation in that time often moves to questions about what’s happening in your life or where you want to be. If you’ve ever been in a situation like that, during the holidays or not, you might be familiar with the feelings those questions bring up. We all want to succeed but often worry about disappointing others or meeting their expectations.
Think back to the story of Mary and Joseph. They were only engaged when they found out they would have a baby! They were probably scared about many things, including letting people down or what others might think when they heard the news. Instead of letting those fears rule their decisions, they let God comfort them with the truth that this plan and this Kid were greater than their fears. And that gift—the gift of Jesus, the Kid who changed the world—can do the same for us today, too.
This Christmas, how can you trust in God’s plan for your life? More than what others think, more than even what you hope, how can you remember that the gift of Jesus reminds you of God’s good plan for your life?
