Changes bring all sorts of emotions—sometimes even opposite ones! You might feel sad about losing an old friend while excited to make a new one. Or you might be nervous about starting a new school but hopeful for a fresh start when you get there. All these feelings? They’re normal and okay. As the writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us, life has a rhythm of ups and downs. The key is allowing yourself to experience each emotion. Instead of trying to skip over the hard parts or talk yourself out of what you’re feeling, give yourself space and grace to feel how you feel when change comes. Be patient with yourself as you navigate the changes in your life, and don't be afraid to laugh, cry, or sit with the emotions that come with change when you need to.
Today, try being honest with God about how you feel. Say something like, “Today I feel ______, and I’m grateful You know what that feels like, too.”
Scripture
