Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 2:4).
Are you walking by faith?
Habakkuk brings his problem to God. The inhabitants of Judah are wicked and seemingly getting away with their ungodliness. He pleaded, "O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, 'Violence!' and You will not save" (Habakkuk 1:2). God's response rattles the prophet: "For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans [Babylonians], a bitter and hasty nation" (Habakkuk 1:6). The Lord uses Babylon to chasten the southern kingdom of Judah. Indeed, Habakkuk needs to trust God in this matter. Saints through every generation must walk by faith and not sight. Three New Testament books quote Habakkuk 2:4 (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). Four times we are reminded, "the just shall live by faith."
Employment Point: Walk by faith, knowing that God always acts according to His perfect nature.
