Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9).
Have you considered the difference between the first and second comings of Jesus?
Daniel predicted the exact day that Jesus would ride into Jerusalem proclaiming to be the Messiah (Daniel 9:24-27). Jesus rode His donkey with an offer of peace. Luke writes, "Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, 'If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace!’" (Luke 19:41-42). The Lord's Second Coming, at the end of the Tribulation, will be to conquer His enemies and establish His kingdom. He will not ride upon a donkey offering peace but upon a white horse, and His robe will be splattered with the blood of His enemies (Revelation 19:11-21).
Employment Point: Hasten to offer peace to the unsaved through the gospel.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
