Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:14).
Do you fear dying?
God places Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They disobey the Lord and eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, so death and the fear of death permeates mankind (Genesis 2:17). For this reason Jesus becomes like us, so that one day we would be like Him. Our Lord nullifies--which is the meaning of "destroy" in Hebrews 2:14-- Satan "who had the power of death." Through Jesus’ sacrifice He would "release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage" (Hebrews 2: 15). We can fearlessly say, "Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Employment Point: Don't fear death, because it is a defeated foe.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
