Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

On the first day of the week let each of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper (1 Corinthians 16:2).
Do you regularly rob God?
God, through Malachi, asks the Israelites the following question: “Will a man rob God?” He then declares, “Yet you have robbed Me!” (Malachi 3:8). Israelites were robbing God by not bringing their tithes and offerings to the Temple. Paul teaches that as he had “given orders to the churches of Galatia [concerning giving], so you must do also” (1 Corinthians 16:1). As the church meets on the first day of the week, each believer is to bring his offering as God has caused him to prosper. Not attending church weekly or arriving at church after the offering has been taken is not an excuse to rob God. Whatever we have comes from God, and He is to be regularly honored through our generous giving to His work.
Employment Point: Don’t rob God by weekly keeping what belongs to Him.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
