Lovingkindness

“His lovingkindness lasts forever.” What does that even mean? Lovingkindness is many things: It is God's mercy, compassion, pity, goodness, and loving care for us. At the beginning of this Psalm, we are thanking God for creating the world. Basically, "Thank you, God, for making the world so beautiful...You made it beautiful because of Your mercy, compassion, pity, goodness, and loving care for us." Wow! That is a whole new way to look at the beauty of the world. Take that in for a second. God could have made us a pretty boring and unimpressive world. Instead, He gave us mountains! He gave us oceans and rivers! He gave us forests and deserts! He gave us gardens with flowers! Why? Because He loves us, whether we deserve it or not.
