Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsНамуна

No Sleep!
Have you ever fallen asleep during a movie or show you had been eagerly waiting to see? Have you ever dozed off in the middle of class or during church?! Have you ever hung out with friends and made a pact to stay awake as long as you possibly could, only to find out you were the first to fall asleep? The average teenager needs 8-10 hours of sleep each day. Some pretty major things can happen to our bodies if we don't get the sleep we need: we get stressed, we forget things, we get cranky, and we can get really sick due to low immune function.
No matter how hard we try, we could never keep the promise to stay awake in order to protect someone, no matter how much we love them. But we serve a God who will neither sleep nor slumber (v. 3). The Lord is your keeper (v. 5). The Lord will protect you from all evil, He will keep your life (v. 7).
GO DEEP: Where do you look to for help? Do you go to a friend, a parent, or a small group leader? The psalmist says in verse 2, "My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth." What would it look like for you to go straight to God, the One who never sleeps or slumbers, this week when you need help? Is there something you could ask God RIGHT NOW?
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
