# Finding God on Hard Days > I patiently waited, LORD, for you to hear my prayer. You listened and pulled me from a lonely pit full of mud and mire. You let me stand on a rock with my feet firm. > Psalm 40:1–2 (CEV) God knows. He knows everything about you! He knows what makes you happy and sad. He knows what is going to happen in your life. He wants all your days to be happy, but he knows sometimes that’s not possible in this life. And even though he knows everything about you—even what you’re thinking!—he still wants to hear from you. Did you know that? You can talk to God and he will listen! When you pray, you don’t need to use fancy words or hold your hands in a special way. You can just talk to God and share what you are feeling. Today’s Scripture reminds us that when you talk to God, he hears you and listens. He will help turn your bad days into better days! So take some time this week to talk to God. He is waiting to hear from you! ## HERO TRAINING Even on sad days, God sends us good gifts. It’s helpful to remind yourself of these things when you’re feeling sad, because it will remind you of God’s goodness and love for you!
