Forgiven and Free
Our Father in heaven knew we would never be perfect. The Law would only show us how our actions could never meet God’s standard of perfection. To replace the law with His grace, He sent His Son to die for us. Now He does not treat us the way our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. In Hebrews 8:12, He says that our sins and lawless deeds He will remember no more. Today, when He looks at those who have crowned Him Lord and God of their lives, He sees perfection, because of Jesus’ perfect work on the cross.
So often, we tend to judge ourselves. We think we are not worthy of God’s love and forgiveness. Well, guess what. We never were. God gave us salvation as a free gift. It was never about us, but about Him and His sacrifice.
If the Creator of heaven and earth does not hold your sins against you, if He has removed our transgressions from us, we have no right to condemn ourselves!
God has given us a clean slate for a reason. The more we hold on to our past, the more we restrict Him from working in and through us. Let go, and see His glory and power work in your life. Today, rest in the assurance that God sees you as perfect, and He loves you unconditionally. Your sins have no hold over you.
Declaration
I have been forgiven. Jesus has removed my transgressions and I have been made righteous through His finished work on the cross. I am free!
