He set off. When he got to the outskirts of Damascus, he was suddenly dazed by a blinding flash of light. As he fell to the ground, he heard a voice: “Saul, Saul, why are you out to get me?”

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven

As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him

So Saul headed toward Damascus. As he came near the city, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around him.
