College & Christ: A 30-Day Devotional for College Girlsනියැදිය

Strength to Endure
Today’s scripture comes from Hebrews, where the writer is encouraging weary believers to see life as a race of endurance. The believers he was writing to were discouraged. Many faced persecution, pressure from the world, and the temptation to turn back to old ways of life. The writer reminds them that they were not running alone and Jesus Himself was their ultimate focus and example.
Notice that the race is not a sprint but a marathon. Perseverance is the goal, not a speed. The text calls us to “throw off everything that hinders,” which includes sins, but also distractions, unhealthy habits, and anything that keeps us from running faithfully. The key instruction is to fix our eyes on Jesus, the One who started and sustains our faith until the end.
College life often feels like a race you don’t have the energy to finish. Assignments pile up, exams stretch you thin, and social pressures weigh heavily. It can feel tempting to give in to distractions and walk away from your faith. But this scripture reminds you that endurance is possible when you strip away what slows you down and keep your eyes on Christ.
Think about this...
Where in college life do you feel like giving up? What “weights” do you need to let go of to run stronger? How can you fix your focus on Jesus this week?

As a mom, youth leader, and someone who has worked with teen girls for over 14 years, I know this season can feel both exciting and overwhelming. My prayer is that in these 30 days, you’ll be reminded that God is with you in every lecture hall, dorm room, late-night study session, and moment of doubt. You are loved, chosen, and equipped to shine.
